š¼ Role Description:
Weāre looking to add a PPA to our team based in Madrid. This person will mainly be responsible for leading general legal aspects of PPA opportunities of the company globally. Weāre searching for a highly skilled lawyer with 4ā6+ years of experience in the energy sector, specializing in the drafting, review, and negotiation in Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in complex contract negotiations and a deep understanding of the commercial and regulatory aspects of energy transactions.
š Your main responsibilities will be:
- Draft, review, and negotiate physical and virtual PPAs for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, storage) connected to the grid or for self-consumption in Spain and/or all other jurisdictions where ABEI is located (i.e. USA, Italy, UK, Germany, Poland, etc).
- Lead negotiations with offtakers, utilities, traders, and large consumers, ensuring alignment with project and business objectives.
- Identify and assess contractual risks, proposing effective mitigation strategies.
- Support project finance transactions where the PPA is a key component, taking care of the bankability of the agreement and the project.
- Collaborate closely with other departments (development, finance, technical) and external advisors.
- Monitor regulatory developments affecting PPAs in relevant jurisdictions.
Requisitos mĆnimos
š Requirements:
- Law Degree.
- Additional qualifications in Energy Law or Commercial Law are a plus.
- Minimum 4 years of post-qualification experience.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting and negotiating PPAs and related renewable energy project agreements.
- Deep knowledge of bankability concerns with regards to PPAs in the context of a project financing.
- C-1 of legal English (both written and spoken) is a must; additional languages are a plus.
- A dynamic, proactive person with the ability to adapt and work in a dynamic, fluid and results-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, good communication and negotiation skills, and ability to work independently.
- International experience (Europe, US, LATAM) is not required but is a plus.
